Construction Electrician Training Modules
The Construction Electrician curriculum consists of three modules, each 80 hours in duration. A minimum of 8 eligible participants must enroll in a selected module for the class to begin. The modules must be completed in sequential order. For example, to enroll in Module Two you must first pass Module One. You must register by the deadline in order to participate in the class. Any Construction Electrician interested in enrolling for a training module must call the Electrical Training Institute at (317) 270-5282 or email Brittany at bvanhook@eti-indy.org.
Module 1
The first module of the CE curriculum consists of an orientation session and IBEW history (8 hours), a fundamentals of math for the Construction Electrician course (40 hours), and a craftsmanship course (32 hours). This module totals 80 hours of classroom instruction. If you have already taken and passed the math course at the Electrical Training Institute you will receive credit for the course.

Craftsmanship Class- (at the Training Center)
July 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28, August 2, 4 at 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Registration deadline is July 8. No book required.
Oct 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 at 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Registration deadline is Sept 30. No book required.
Module 2
The second module of the CE curriculum consists of three subjects. The first course section covers covers the National Electrical Code NFPA 70 and the proper installation techniques that lead to a code compliant installation (32 hours). The second section covers conduit bending using a hand bender for electrical metallic tubing (24 hours). The third section covers wiring methods of NM cable, metallic cable, and stranded wire in conduit applications (24 hours). This module totals 80 hours of classroom instruction.

Introduction to Conduit Bending – (at the Training Center)

Introduction to Wiring Methods – (at the Training Center)
February 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, March 2 at 4:30 - 8:30 pm. Registration deadline is February 10, 2023. No book required.
Module 3
The third module of the CE curriculum consists of four sections. The first section covers telecommunication systems (20 hours). The second section covers both DC and AC electrical theory (20 hours). The third section covers blueprint reading for the electrician (20 hours). The fourth section includes CPR/First Aid training, OSHA 10 certification training, and a course on personal finance management (20 hours). This module totals 80 hours of classroom instruction.

Blueprint Reading – (at the Training Center)
May 1, 4, 8, 11, 15 at 4:30 - 8:30 pm. Registration deadline is April 28, 2023. No book required.
First Aid/CPR/AED – (at the Training Center)
May 13 at 7:30 – 11:30 am. Registration deadline is May 5, 2023. Pay certification fee HERE.
Personal Finance – (at the Training Center)
May 20 at 8:00 - 4:30 pm. Registration deadline is May12, 2023. No book is required.
OSHA 10 – (at the Training Center)
June 12 & 15 at 4:30 - 10:30 pm. Registration deadline is June 2, 2023. No book required.
