Notice of Opportunity

Are you ready to receive a valuable education while earning a good wage, and then graduate to a secure career with great benefits?  We accept applications in person at the office Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.  You may also fill out our online application from the convenience of your home at any time.  A $30 application fee is required to complete your application.  After your application is complete, you must take and pass the aptitude test and then sit for an oral interview with our program trustees prior to being considered for acceptance into our program.  This process may take several months.  We typically make a class selection twice a year; once in November and once in May.

Below are the basic qualifications required of apprenticeship candidates:

  • Minimum of 17 years of age
  • One year of high school algebra with a grade C or better
  • Successful completion of aptitude test
  • Valid driver's license

If you do not meet the minimum math requirements, the NJATC Tech Math program provides an opportunity to gain the math experience required to apply.

After your application is successfully submitted

You have 60 days to complete the application process by getting your required GED and/or high school transcripts to us.

  1. The transcripts can be mailed to 1751 S. Lawndale Ave., Indianapolis IN 46241 from the high school in their letterhead envelope.
  2. The transcripts can be emailed from your high school by them going through www.parchment.com.  (see instructions below)
  3. The transcript can also be hand carried into the training center as long as the high school seal is affixed over the flap of the envelope.
  4. We will also accept college transcripts in addition to the required high school transcripts using the same process.

If the application isn't completed in 60 days, it will be deemed invalid and you will have to reapply.
Once the application process is completed, you will be put on a list to take our aptitude test, which measures your reading comprehension and math skills. You will be notified of the aptitude test date by mail, so make sure to keep your address current with the training center.

If you pass the aptitude test, you will be notified before leaving the training center of your oral interview date and the time of your interview with our selection Committee.

Please submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if you are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience. You may email the form to info@eti-indy.org or deliver in person.

Please notify the Electrical Training Institute Office once your paperwork has been submitted.
